The Minimum Viable Win

Find the smallest real result that would change your next decision or prove the core mechanism.

For two years you've carried a vision: leave consulting and build a life around helping people navigate career transitions. The vision is so large that nothing you could do this month feels like it counts, so most months you do nothing. A destination that grand offers no near-term result that could prove it, disprove it, or redirect it, which means it can't steer anything.

The Minimum Viable Win shrinks it to the first real contact with reality. The cue: the goal is too big for any near-term result to test. The move: ask one question, what is the smallest real result that would change my next decision or demonstrate the core mechanism?, then make it observable and time-bounded. Here: guide five people through a career transition in the next 90 days and check whether their outcomes improve and your energy holds. Hit it and you've proven the mechanism; miss it or hate it and you've learned something a vision board never tells you. What changes: paralysis converts into a scheduled experiment. The warning: minimum viable is not a ceremonial checkbox; the win must touch reality hard enough to actually update the plan.
