Seed the Flywheel

Subsidize the first few turns, then test whether natural returns can sustain the next turn on their own.

You want a monthly dinner where your scattered friends actually see each other. The first one, you know, will be awkward: you will do all the inviting, cooking, and reminding, and turnout will be thin. The dream is that eventually people invite each other and the dinner runs itself. The question is how to get from here to there without hosting forever.

Seed the Flywheel means subsidizing the first few turns of a loop, then testing whether natural returns can sustain the next turn on their own. The cue is a desirable cycle that cannot start itself because its rewards only appear after several repetitions. The operation: fund the early turns fully and personally (you cook, you chase RSVPs, you follow up), for a declared number of cycles; then deliberately withdraw one subsidy (someone else picks the date) and observe whether the turn still happens; keep stepping back one support at a time. If the dinner survives your withdrawal, the flywheel has caught. If it dies the moment you stop pushing, the returns are not yet real, and you either redesign the loop or accept it as permanently subsidized. Do not keep seeding indefinitely without ever testing; an endless subsidy is not a flywheel, it is a job.
