Every line between two items has to declare which relation it carries: causes, converts into, precedes, contradicts. One arrow shape per relation kind, defined once. If you cannot name what an edge means, delete it instead of drawing a vague connector.

Example
In your chemistry notes, a solid arrow means "increases," a dashed arrow means "converts into," a double arrow means "reversible equilibrium." Catalyst to rate now reads one way only, and you delete the plain line between temperature and pressure because you cannot say which of the three it was.
