Renormalization Group
A technique from theoretical physics for understanding how systems behave at different scales by systematically coarse-graining—zooming out and seeing which details matter and which wash out at larger scales. Applied to complex systems thinking, it suggests that the relevant variables and governing laws change depending on the scale of observation. What drives individual behavior may not drive population behavior, and organizational dynamics differ from team dynamics.
When to use it
When dealing with complex, interconnected problems; when interventions keep failing; when small changes produce disproportionate effects; when predicting system behavior.
