Systems Thinking
Seeing the world as interconnected wholes rather than isolated parts. Systems thinking focuses on relationships, feedback loops, delays, and emergent behavior rather than linear cause-and-effect. It recognizes that most problems are symptoms of deeper structural patterns, and that interventions in one part of a system produce effects throughout the system—often with significant time delays and in unexpected places.
When to use it
When the same problem keeps recurring despite solutions. When fixing one thing breaks another. When cause and effect are separated by time or space. When stakeholders disagree about what's causing a problem.
