Team Learning
Peter Senge's discipline where the intelligence of the team exceeds the intelligence of any individual through aligned, skillful conversation. Team learning requires both dialogue (exploring complex issues openly) and discussion (converging on decisions). The key barrier: defensive routines—habitual patterns of thinking and acting that protect individuals from threat or embarrassment while preventing the team from learning. Overcoming these requires psychological safety and practice.
