Three Teachings Integration (Sanjiao Heyi)

The Three Teachings — Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism — coexisted in Chinese civilization for over a millennium, producing the syncretic principle sanjiao heyi. Rather than competing worldviews, each addressed different domains: Confucianism governed social relations, Daoism governed relationship with nature and personal cultivation, Buddhism governed the inner life and ultimate questions.
