Ayurvedic Constitution Types (Tridosha)

Ayurveda classifies constitutions into three doshas: Vata (air/space — creative, quick, anxiety-prone), Pitta (fire/water — driven, analytical, anger-prone), and Kapha (earth/water — steady, patient, inertia-prone). Everyone has all three in different proportions (prakriti). Health is dynamic balance among doshas, differing by individual. The same food or schedule that balances one constitution destabilizes another. Vikriti (current imbalance) differs from prakriti (innate constitution), creating a gap between 'who you are naturally' and 'where you are now.'

When to use it

When universal management approaches aren't working for your team. When trying to understand why different people thrive under different conditions. When designing personalized routines. When a usually effective team member underperforms — distinguish constitutional tendency from current imbalance.

How it can help

A framework for personalized management. A Vata-dominant worker (creative, scattered) needs different support than Pitta (focused, combustible) or Kapha (steady, slow to start). Vata types need structure; Pitta types need downtime; Kapha types need stimulation. The vikriti/prakriti distinction: someone acting scattered might be Vata in balance (fine) or any type under stress (needs intervention). Design environments for constitutional diversity rather than one-size-fits-all approaches.
