Chakra Energy Centers Model

The chakra system maps seven centers: Muladhara (root — survival, security), Svadhisthana (sacral — creativity, desire), Manipura (solar plexus — power, will), Anahata (heart — love, connection), Vishuddha (throat — expression, truth), Ajna (third eye — insight, intuition), Sahasrara (crown — transcendence, purpose). The hierarchy: higher-order concerns cannot be addressed when lower-order ones are unmet. Each has shadow expressions when blocked or excessive: blocked root creates anxiety; excessive solar plexus creates domination.

When to use it

When diagnosing what blocks individual or team performance and surface explanations are insufficient. When personal development feels stuck and you need to identify unmet foundational needs. When organizational culture issues cascade from an unidentified root cause.

How it can help

A diagnostic for performance and wellbeing. When a team underperforms creatively (throat issues), check if basic security is addressed (root). If people fear layoffs, they cannot innovate. A controlling leader (solar plexus excess) often has unaddressed insecurity (root deficit). More granular than Maslow's hierarchy for the middle ranges where most professional challenges occur. Use seven levels as self-assessment: which area needs attention now?
