Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World as Family)

From the Maha Upanishad: 'For those who live magnanimously, the entire world constitutes but a family.' The capacity to extend family-level care beyond biological kin is both possible and the marker of ethical maturity. This manifests as the Indian joint family model scaled upward: obligations toward family extend progressively to community, nation, and humanity. The philosophical basis is the Upanishadic insight that all beings share the same fundamental nature. India adopted this as its G20 presidency theme in 2023.

When building organizational culture needing a deeper foundation than 'we're a team.' When expanding into new markets and needing to build genuine trust. When stakeholder conflicts need a principle for determining whose interests matter.
