Hassle Premium

A practical pricing idea: people may pay for an offering that reduces time, effort, uncertainty, coordination, or inconvenience around a desired result. The amount depends on the person, alternatives, resources, and the service’s actual usefulness.

A customer may value the effort avoided by a service as well as its visible output. Delivery, setup, coordination, cleanup, or reliable follow-through can make a simple offering worthwhile. To understand that value, inspect the customer’s whole task and the alternatives they could reasonably choose.

Potential willingness to pay is not unlimited and does not automatically become profitable demand. Some people prefer doing the task themselves, cannot afford the premium, or find coordination with a provider more troublesome. A useful offer removes a real burden at a price and service cost that can work for both sides.
