The Tuned Deck illustrates how a seemingly unified feat can be produced by different methods on different occasions. Treating all demonstrations as one fixed trick can make every individual explanation appear inadequate.

An apparent single ability can conceal several methods selected to fit different conditions. If every failed explanation assumes the performer used one method throughout, eliminating those explanations creates a mystery that the evidence never required. The important variable may be which procedure was selected on each occasion.

Apply this by splitting a striking label into distinct performances and recording their conditions. Look for mechanisms that explain subsets before demanding one mechanism that explains everything. In consciousness debates this is a conceptual warning against assuming a single hidden trick; it does not itself explain the individual capacities.
