Activation Energy

Activation energy is a kinetic parameter associated with reaction-rate dependence and an energy barrier. Favorable overall energy change does not imply a fast reaction; the barrier is not merely a one-time startup payment.

Activation energy is a kinetic concept associated with how reaction rates depend on an energy barrier and temperature. A reaction can be thermodynamically favorable yet slow because the available pathway is difficult to traverse. It is misleading to picture this only as a one-time payment that starts a reaction after which no barrier remains; reacting particles continue to face the pathway's constraints.

These are not literal chemical energy barriers, and they are only some causes of an intention–action gap. Remove a specific obstacle while preserving useful checks, then see whether starting and continuing actually improve. Motivation, ability, competing commitments, and the task's value may require different attention.
