Alloying
Alloying combines elements into a metallic material whose properties depend on composition and processing. Nonmetals can be included, and improvements in one property may trade off against others.
An alloy is a metallic material made from more than one element, which can include nonmetals such as carbon in steel. Composition and processing influence structure and properties. A combination may improve a particular property while worsening another, and the result is not universally stronger, more flexible, or better than every constituent.
As an analogy for collaboration, the useful idea is that performance depends on relationships among components, proportions, and the way they are organized. Complementary skills may enable work no individual could complete alone, but coordination and task fit must be demonstrated. Material behavior does not prove that every diverse team outperforms every homogeneous one. Define the desired property and test the combination in context.
