Leverage

Mechanical leverage changes force and distance through geometry without creating energy. Strategic leverage is a separate analogy for an input amplified through a specified mechanism.

A lever changes the force and distance relationship through geometry around a fulcrum. An ideal machine can reduce required force while increasing the distance through which that force acts; it does not create energy. Real devices also face friction, material limits, and stability requirements.

Strategic leverage is an analogy for an input whose effects are amplified through a specific system. A reusable tool can save repeated work, but building, maintaining, and correcting it have costs, and an error can spread with the benefit. Identify the path of amplification and its limits. A large hoped-for result per unit effort is a hypothesis to test, not evidence that a leverage point has been found.
