Influence Diagrams

A visual decision-modeling tool that maps the relationships between decisions (rectangles), uncertainties (ovals), and outcomes (rounded rectangles) with arrows showing influence. More compact than decision trees, influence diagrams reveal the structure of a decision problem—which uncertainties matter, what information would be most valuable, and how decisions interact. They force you to make causal relationships explicit rather than keeping them muddled in your head.
