Self

Your own body and brain carry the work best suited to embodied judgment, values, presence, practice, and final authority.

Facing a decision about whether to leave your career for something more aligned with what you care about, you have outsourced almost all of it: an AI summarizes the tradeoffs, a spreadsheet scores the options, three advisors have weighed in. The one carrier you have not seriously consulted is the one the decision is actually about: your own felt response, values, and judgment.

SELF names your own body and brain as a carrier of cognitive work, one option among six, and the spec is specific about what belongs there: embodied perception, values, tacit judgment, authentic presence, deliberate practice, and final authority. The cue to route work here is noticing that a task's value comes from it being done by you: sensing what a possible future feels like in your body, holding a commitment, making the call you must personally stand behind. The operation is simple to say and easy to skip: deliberately reserve those pieces for yourself, undistributed, even while tools handle the surrounding calculation and research. In the career case, the runway math can live in a spreadsheet, but the reading of your own felt response to each path stays in you, and so does the final decision. What changes is that the choice becomes yours in a way you can inhabit afterward. The non-use case is equally real: SELF is a terrible carrier for exact arithmetic, bulk storage, and tireless monitoring; routing those here out of pride just burns attention.
