The Goal Rehire Interview
An old goal can keep its job through momentum alone. Temporarily set it aside, then ask whether today's evidence and obligations would justify hiring it again, at what scope, and for what review period.
Fire it for a minute → interview today → rehire, resize, replace, or stop.
The Goal Rehire Interview tests present justification without pretending history and obligations vanish. Imagine the goal were not already yours. Would you choose it now, given what you know and still owe? Rehire it deliberately, reduce its scope, seek another destination, or stop where legitimate. The owner must endorse any material change.

I keep pursuing this because I've pursued it for years.
Would I choose this goal if I met it today?
Stopping feels like betraying who I used to be.
The conditions changed, but the goal never got interviewed again.
What you can use it for
Review stale commitments
Separate current value from inertia after circumstances change.
Resize an ambition
Retain the purpose while reconsidering scope or probation.
Make stopping legitimate
Allow an unhelpful goal to leave without using the exercise to evade duties.
