Move guide
5S
Turn a choice into a small plan you can try
Choose a move in the practical Guide →When this area helps
How do you turn the chosen idea into a small action you can try and learn from?
Use 5S after you choose an idea worth trying. It does not choose the MODELS area for you, and a simple obvious action does not need extra ceremony.
What to produce
One sentence that names the moment to notice, what you will do instead, what you will protect, when you will stop or review, and what real result you will check.
What to check
It works when each part is clear enough to try and another person could tell whether it happened. The next choice is keep it, change it, stop, say ‘not sure yet,’ or choose another MODELS area.

- SPOTName the observable cue that triggered you and the exact mental function it blocked, before doing anything else.
- SHIFTRun exactly one approved support at the smallest dose that could help, instead of stacking techniques.
- SAFEGUARDProtect the invariants while you act: consent, real danger and medical boundaries, essential constraints, and the strongest rival explanation.
- SET_STOPBefore you start, name the dose, the worsening threshold that ends the attempt, the reopening condition, and where you'll route next.
- SCORERetest the exact function you measured before, plus the real-world task result, against your prediction; feeling calmer alone doesn't count.
