End the current course entirely, treating quitting as a first-class option.

The podcast you launched three years ago made sense then. Now each episode takes ten hours, downloads have plateaued at a number you stopped checking, and the night before recording fills you with dread rather than ideas. Yet every option you consider is a way to fix it: new format, new schedule, a co-host. Quitting never makes the list.

Exit / stop is an option form the framework insists on treating as first-class: end the current course entirely, evaluated with the same rigor as any other candidate rather than smuggled in as failure. The cue is noticing that stopping is absent from your list, or present only as a shame-soaked worst case. Run it properly in three steps: write the exit as a concrete option sentence (final episode in June, an announcement to listeners, the archive left up), price what actually ends (ten hours a month, hosting fees, the dread) against what is genuinely lost (the identity, a rare good interview), and design the ending well, since a clean exit protects relationships and leaves the door open. What visibly changes is that continuing must now beat stopping on merit, and often the relief you feel writing the exit sentence is itself the data. Do not exit mid-dip on a course you recently and soundly committed to; quitting at maximum discomfort systematically undervalues nearly finished work.
