Reversible probe
Take a small action designed so you can fully undo it after learning from it.
Your training for the spring marathon has been "soft" for a month: you run when the weather cooperates, skip when work runs late, and keep a mental exit open in case training gets hard. Halfway to race day, your mileage says you are not actually training. You are sampling training.
Commit is the first of the framework's option forms, the commitment structures an option can take: fully bind yourself to one course of action with no planned reversal. It is the opposite pole from probes and pilots, and it is a deliberate choice, not a default. The cue that it fits is when hedging itself has become the problem: the option is well understood, the uncertainty is low, and your remaining obstacle is the escape hatch you keep glancing at. Run it by making the binding real: register and pay for the race, publish your goal to your running group, book the training plan into your calendar as fixed appointments, and remove the internal "unless" clause. What visibly changes is that daily decisions disappear; you no longer renegotiate each run, you just execute. Reserve full commitment for choices that are reversible in consequence or well-verified in advance; the framework's own grid warns against committing hard where uncertainty is high and reversal is impossible.
