Escalate the Red Flag

A routine helper encounters something outside its authority, and continuing would make the problem worse. Define the signal, the authorized destination, the immediate safe action and the expected response before that situation occurs.

Name the flag. Stop ordinary work. Route to authority. Confirm response.

Escalation changes who carries the work when a predefined boundary is crossed. A red flag can be urgent, dangerous, unauthorized or simply outside the current role. State it concretely, name the person or institution equipped to handle it, and define what the current actor does while awaiting response. The ordinary workflow ends when the flag fires.

This is outside what I am allowed to decide.

The unusual request should not enter the normal queue.

We saw the warning but kept processing.

Nobody knew who had authority to handle the exception.
