Offline Fallback

The plan works only while one app, person or connection is available. Choose the small part that must still work when that dependency fails, prepare another route and rehearse it once.

Name the failure. Keep the essentials. Rehearse the alternate route.

A fallback carries essential work when the normal carrier becomes unavailable. It may be paper, a local file, a substitute person or a simpler manual procedure. Define acceptable recovery time and data loss, prepare only what those limits require, and test the alternate route without relying on the failed dependency.
