Teach-Back Before Trust

The receiver says they understand, yet their next action reveals a different plan. Invite them to explain the result, assumptions, exceptions and next step in their own words so misunderstandings surface while correction is still easy.

Explain the result. Name assumptions. Handle exceptions. Show the next step.

Teach-back checks understanding at an interface. The receiver explains what they will produce or do, why the instructions apply, what would change the plan and what happens next. Treat a mismatch as information about the transfer, not a personal failing. Use it proportionately, then check actual independent performance where that matters.
