CUE
Place a prompt or object at the exact place and moment the action should happen.
Every Friday you tell yourself this weekend you will sit down and think about whether your weeks reflect what you actually care about. Every Sunday night, the reflection has not happened, not because you resisted it, but because no moment ever raised its hand and said now. Intentions without a location die quietly.
Cue means placing a prompt or object at the exact place and moment the action should happen, so the environment does the remembering. The cue for using it, fittingly, is a behavior you genuinely intend and know how to do, but keep failing to start because nothing triggers it at the right time. The operation: pick the precise context where the action belongs, such as your Sunday calendar review, put one specific prompt there, like the written question "Did this week reflect what matters?" at the top of the weekly page, and then audit ruthlessly, deleting any cue that does not change behavior. When it works, the reflection happens because Sunday planning cannot proceed without walking past the question. The spec's central warning is signal decay: too many prompts erase each other, an affirmation at every phone unlock cheapens into wallpaper, and a reminder that fires regardless of relevance trains you to ignore the channel you need.
