REARRANGE / PROVISION

Change layout, proximity, and prepared resources before demanding more willpower.

Your guitar lives in its case, in the closet, behind the vacuum. Practicing requires excavation, assembly, and a music stand that is somewhere. You have concluded you lack discipline. A more accurate audit: you have arranged your home so that practicing costs three minutes of setup and skipping costs nothing, then blamed your character for obeying the arithmetic.

Rearrange or provision means changing layout, proximity, and prepared resources before demanding more willpower, on the principle that the environment votes in every decision. The cue is a behavior you keep failing at where the honest accounting shows friction, not motivation, as the culprit. The operation: walk the path the desired action requires and count its steps, then collapse them, putting the guitar on a wall hook beside the chair, the stand permanently open, the current exercise clipped to it. Provision means the needed materials are staged in advance, not fetched in the moment. When it works, practice starts because starting became a 10-second act, and skipping now requires ignoring an instrument at eye level. The spec's boundaries: provisioning can serve the wrong behavior just as efficiently, like a credit card kept beside the computer, and buying an elaborate setup before diagnosing the real blockage turns procrastination into shopping.
