Execute
Can you choose and actually perform one safe, reversible next step right now?
For six months you've been saying you'll explore leaving your industry. You have the browser tabs, the podcast episodes, the list of people to email. What you don't have is a single completed action. Every night you circle the runway and never land.
Execute is the checkpoint question underneath the stall: can you choose and actually perform one safe, reversible next step right now? The probe is behavioral, not mental. Pick the smallest real step, like sending one two-line email asking a former colleague for 20 minutes. Reversible matters: an exploratory email commits you to nothing, unlike resigning. Then watch what happens when you try. If the step completes, you're fine; keep going step by step and skip any state work. If you choose the step but your hands won't do it, that's precise information: the blocked function is initiation, and the fix is support aimed there, maybe two minutes of movement or a friend on the phone while you hit send, followed by trying the same step again. When Execute returns, motion replaces circling. Do not use this probe to bully yourself into irreversible moves at peak urgency; big commitments deserve the opposite treatment, which is deliberate delay.
