Move to Think

A short, comfortable bout of movement (1 to 5 minutes) can restore the attention or initiation the task needs; then retest the same mental function.

It's Tuesday night and you're studying for a certification exam. You've read the same paragraph on network protocols four times and nothing is landing. Your body feels either wired or weirdly flat, and forcing your eyes back to the page is producing motion without comprehension.

The move here is a short, comfortable bout of movement used as an experiment, not a workout. The cue: restlessness, stuckness, or low energy seems to be blocking your attention or your ability to start, and moving is safe and something you actually want. The operation: choose easy walking, stretching, seated movement, or just a posture change; keep it to roughly one to five minutes; do not chase intensity or an emotional release. Then retest the exact function that was failing, in this case reading that same paragraph and seeing if it sticks. When it works, comprehension or initiation comes back within a minute of sitting down. Stop immediately for pain, dizziness, or worsening symptoms, and adapt freely for injury or chronic illness. If the paragraph still won't land after moving, the real problem is probably a missing concept, not your body, so go hunt the prerequisite instead.
